A photoshoot at Daaibooi Beach takes place in a compact bay on the west side of Curaçao, near Sint Willibrordus, roughly halfway along the island. Soft white sand, turquoise water and cliffs along the side.
You can drive there on paved roads. There is plenty of parking, no entrance fee and no closing time.

Daaibooi is a beach where I like to shoot. It’s easy to access and offers plenty of options: the soft white sand, a rock in the water that you’ll want to stand on, pelicans gliding past, and the greenery and cliffs around it.
The location works well if you want natural-looking photos, with the sea and the rock behind you. Shifting along when someone walks through the frame is no problem. On Sundays it’s busier: locals come for the company and good food. Even then it works well for a shoot, especially around 5:30 pm, when I often start. Most visitors head home by then and only a few people are left.

The sunset here is beautiful. Even when there are clouds, enough sun often breaks through for warm photos.
On the beach itself there are several corners: closer to the water, against the rocks, or a little higher with a view over the bay. The images stay simple: sea, stone and room to walk, with no boulevard.
Looking for a wider beach, or coming with a large group or a family of 16 or more? Then a beach photoshoot in Curaçao fits better, for example at Playa Porto Marie or Blue Bay. The bay at Daaibooi can feel tight for that.
Staying on the west side of the island? Then Daaibooi is often a logical choice. More spots in that area are listed under photoshoot locations in Curaçao: west.

Does Daaibooi suit you? Tell me where you’re staying and what kind of shoot you’d like (family, couples or extended family). Then I’ll look for a moment in the late afternoon, so the light is right and the beach is quieter.
