I’ve been making photographs since 1999. First next to my work as a graphic designer. In 2017 I went full time in the Netherlands. Nature first, then portraits and families. That’s where the energy is: people, contact, real moments.
I’ve been working on Curaçao since 2025. Since September 2026 this is home. Jan Thiel. The light, the pace, and the places on this island fit how I like to photograph. Slow. With attention. No rush.
What matters most to me is that you can be yourself. I want to know a little about you before we start. A short conversation is enough. Then I can see how you move together and where the real moments are.
I’ll step in when you need it. A small cue. A different spot. Waiting for the light. And I step back when it’s already happening. Especially with kids. Then I give them room.
We take our time. No tight script. We do plan the location and the time of day, so the light works with us. You don’t need to know what to do in front of a camera. I’ll guide you in a calm way.
After the session I select and edit the photos myself. Twenty years of design work is in that edit. Warm, clear, no heavy filter. My wife often looks at the set one more time before it reaches you. Then you get the photos digitally, ready to keep.
